I’m an American writer yet the gravitational center of my world lies somewhere over the North Atlantic between London, Rome, and Montréal. My essays often return to questions of identity and place, memory and exile. I write to draw meaning out of encounters, cultures, individuals, and to challenge prevailing interpretations of American culture.
I recently completed an EU-funded Masters in Heritage Studies; my academic research is an investigation of the relationship between authenticity and intolerance.
In my client work, I have consulted for international and education-focused social enterprises, and with Californian and European food and wine clients. Published translations include French-to-English exhibition catalogues and Italian-to-English commercial work (websites, print material, books). I have also served as a live Italian-English interpreter.
